Akshay Pal: Confident that I’ll win India’s Dancing Superstar

Indore boy Akshay Pal, who has amazed everyone with his dancing skills in India’s Dancing Superstar, a dance-based reality show on Star Plus, talked to us about his ambitions, and his extremely supportive family, ahead of the grand finale on August 3.

“My elder brother is a good dancer, and he is the one who taught me all the impressive dance moves. Even before participating in the show, I used to dance for six to seven hours a day, after school,” says Akshay.

The 13-year-old boy is in awe of choreographer Prabhudheva, and Ashley Lobo. “My idol is Prabhudheva. I want to be just like him one day. He is super talented. I’m quite confident that I will win. Show par bhi sab mujhse bahut pyaar karte hain, mujhe kabhi bhi nahi lagta ki main ghar se door hoon. My favourite judge on the show is Ashley Lobo; he pampers us a lot.”

Although, the class-VII student of Mount Mary School, Mhow, cannot forego a day without practising, he doesn’t want to put his education on the back-burner. “I want to stay with my parents till I complete my studies. Only after that I shall move to Mumbai for my training. My family and school have been very supportive. I’m proud to be an MP-born. The whole state will be proud of me, once I bring the winners’ trophy home,” says Akshay.
