Yash Raj Film’s debut on television might not have done well on the rating charts but the shows that belted out from the mighty production house were critically acclaimed for unique concepts and eminent production value.
YRF is now at the threshold on launching its second set of shows on Sony Entertainment Television. As reported Mahi Way is one of them and the second show that will be launched is titled as Bhagyaa and is loosely inspired by renowned author Jeffrey Archer’s novel Kane and Abel (The title and story is about the Biblical brothers, Cain and Abel). Bhagyaa will feature Rahul Bagga and Viraf Patel from their earlier show Powder. The show will also feature veteran actor Subramanyam who plays the lead character in COLORS’ Mukti Bandhan.
Informs our source, “Bhagyaa starts from the year of 1947 and runs till 2007. It’s based on the mythological character of Cain and Abel (sons of Adam and Eve) and is loosely inspired by Jeffrey Archer’s Kane and Abel. The show talks about the starting point of jealousy and power within the mankind. Subramanyam plays mentor to Viraf who belongs to an affluent and rich family whereas Rahul plays a poor boy to become rich eventually. The show is expected to launch by Januray and or the beginning of February next year. Bhagyaa will run for 60 episodes.”
All attempts to reach Rahul and Viraf were futile. The show is directed by talented Naresh Malhotra who has been associated with YRF for more than 20 years now.
