It has been three months since Shweta Tiwari’s show Jaane Kya Baat Hui first aired, after her hit show Kasauti Zindagi Key was cancelled. But all is not well and Jaane Kya… now has to give up its prime time slot (10.30pm) to make way for a new show. The reason for this is its supposedly low TRPs.Amitabh Raina from the production house Cinevistaas says, “It was completely the channel’s call to shift the show to the 6.30pm slot from Monday onwards. The show is doing really well and we got appreciation from people everywhere. In its first three months, it has been generating TRPs of 1.72 which are decent numbers.â€
Amitabh tried to convince the channel to keep their show on the prime time slot but to no avail. “They have their own policy. A new show is coming in the place of ours. It is called Na Aana Iss Des Lado and is a show for the masses so they are confident about it,†says Amitabh.
The production as well as the cast are worried about how this change in the show’s timings will affect the serial. Amitabh says, “Some way or the other, this time change will hamper the show’s popularity. Even so, we thought why not try it. When we informed Shweta and Sanjeet they were apprehensive but then we all came to a conclusion that if the drama is good then it will work in any time slot. Let’s hope this works for us.â€
Colors is launching two new shows in their prime time slot. At 9pm, in the place of Mohe Rang De, Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari will air from March 9. While Na Aana Iss Des Lado will start from March 9 at 10.30pm.
A reason why Jaane Kya Baat Hui was doing well might have been because no other channel had a promising show in the same time slot. The only hit show in that slot used to be Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which ended four months ago.
