Sayantani Ghosh to leave her show

Looks like Sayantani Ghosh, whose character Kakul, in Ghar Ek Sapna, became a household name, has become too big for her boots. According to our source close to the channel, Sayantani started giving grief to the production house in that she wouldn’t give enough dates and time to the serial that made her so popular. She also signed a new serial and got involved with reality shows. The production house had no choice but to replace her. She has been replaced by Anisha, who has played parallel leads in Banoo Main Teri Dulhan and Dahej.

Ajai Sinha, producer of the show, confirmed the story and said, “Sayantani had some offers to do new shows. She asked to be relieved from my show. Though we took this decision in July, it took us some time to give the story a believable turn, it is important that the new person fit into the role and our viewers should be able to accept the new Kakul.”

So is the character going to meet with an accident and return with a new face after plastic surgery? Says Ajai, “In the serial we sent Kakul to the mental hospital and now she will return in the serial after more than a month’s break – as mentally sick and under medication.”

Sayantani confirmed her decision of quitting the show, she said, “I was very tired doing two daily shows – Nagin and Ghar… I asked the production house for a two to three month break. But it is very difficult for the lead character to be missing for so long, so the production house had to take a decision and change Kakul’s character.”

Apparently Sayantani also had major issues with Aroona Irani the producer of Nagin. Says our source, “Last week, when Aroonaji called Sayantani to discuss a scene, she refused to come as she was busy on the phone. Aroonaji was really upset and stormed into Sayantani’s make-up room and yelled at her. However, Sayantani continued talking on phone!”

When we asked Sayantani if it was true, she retorted, “I have no issues, you should ask Aroonaji. Such small incidents are not worth talking about.” Aroona Irani was unavailable for comment.
